Following the successful re-launch of Sheffield PHP – which was held at Couch Campo Lane in July – we were delighted to be their venue of choice once more for the September edition of the event.
Run by a community of web developers, with a helping hand from sponsors Evoluted, Sheffield PHP provides a platform for presentations and discussions around the PHP scripting language.
Held on the evening of 21st September, this event took place from 6:00pm onwards and lasted for much of the evening. This time, the meetup revolved around a talk from Rob Deniszczyc – a Frontend Developer at Plusnet – on an ‘Intro to Laravel & the Laravel Ecosystem’.
The talk went down well and many of the attendees stayed behind afterwards for some informal discussion and drinks. Planning is already underway for November’s Sheffield PHP and it’s great to see the event get back off the ground.
Why Did Sheffield PHP Come Back?
Taking place once every two months, the last Sheffield PHP was held in July at our Campo Lane venue too. That was the return of the event after several years’ hiatus, so it was important for everything to run smoothly. Pleasingly, this was the case and the event was a real hit.
On the night, attendees were enthusiastic both on the subject matter covered and the venue itself. Through the pre-arranged bar tab, guests were able to enjoy a superb range of drinks, whilst the spacious interior of our Campo Lane interior was ideal for pre and post-event socialising.
